The Company was formed at Killermont Parish Church and was formally enrolled on 30th October 1941. Allocated the title 2nd Glasgow which was not in use at the time the Company is called 2nd Glasgow (Killermont) and the Company’s motto is ‘Second to None’. The first Captain was Mr R A Lyall and the first Chaplain to the Company was Rev R W Stewart. The title 3rd Bearsden was adopted on 2nd November 1947 however we are in fact the 2nd oldest Company in Bearsden as the number 2 had already been allocated to another Bearsden Company before our new title was given.
Some 80 years on our Company is still going strong and over the past few years our membership has grown significantly meaning we are engaging with a large number of families in the local area.
